That headline may sound a bit ironic and unusual. Why would a 21-year-old take initiative in a topic about end-of-life care? And in Idaho, the state where they don't even allow MAID?
I know my position may not fit the typical background of someone who would normally take up this subject. That said, I do have some perspective, and I take my position as a unique advantage that I'm blessed to have.
There are many people more qualified to do this. I'm very thankful for those that I have been able to learn from online. People who are much more experienced and knowledgeable in the pro-life space.
Before I explain the launch of this page, let me first share some of my background.
Feb 2025:
I began working as a caregiver at an assisted living facility (this was shortly after becoming EMT certified). I helped elderly residents with their ADLs (activities of daily living), established trust, and gained experience.
Here are some highlights
- Earned respect with many residents
- Arrived late once during my 11 months
- Helped train 5+ caregivers
- Won the chili cook-off
Feb 2026:
Nearly a year later, I got hired at the local hospital as an imaging transporter. My goal was to use this as a catalyst to become an ER Tech and try transferring after 6 months. This job gave me a lot of experience in 4 months.
Some more highlights
- Transported a patient from the ICU (my role was normally between the ER and Imaging)
- Speedy transports
- Interesting stories
- Was able to talk to a lot of people
- Experienced a lot of the medical field
Regarding those two jobs:
All or most of those highlights are just the good ones. I, like others, have made mistakes and was certainly not a perfect employee. I was blessed with kind bosses, and I got along with my coworkers. That said, there were many times I avoided or cowered from uncomfortable conversations where I could have stood for the truth.
Jul 2026:
I founded Go Steko LLC. I quit my job and chose entrepreneurship. This company is meant to produce mission-aligned solutions. It's not very specific because I didn't want to find myself stuck in one area.
I'm still figuring out what I'm doing with this. So far, a good portion of my progress has been in learning AI vibe coding.
Before this:
I had difficulty finding what I was going to do leading up to my last day at the hospital, and even after leaving. I went between mobile detailing, snack distribution, and a Christian hydration powder brand.
The hydration powder business idea was moving forward, but I found difficulty with the price, and I realized that I may not be putting my bigger passion first (which was standing for truth). I even got an LLC, which thankfully was refunded, and I started GO STEKO LLC instead.
And now - Sep 2026:
I started a public challenge on social media that I would build and launch StopMAID.com in 6 days. Each day (during the challenge), I have been sharing a video on the topic of MAID and my website. My deadline is approaching, and I wrote this article during the 6-day challenge.
I have been using AI vibe coding for this project. On day 1, I used WordPress Studio AI for the site. I didn't like how long the prompts were taking, and I felt like I could get a better site and make better progress with a different tool.
I switched to Claude AI and ramped up Fable 5.1 on Max. Thankfully, much of this project hasn't been on the Fable model. I don't know a ton about this stuff, but it can rack up credits. There are other tools in this framework you can check out in the policies and/or the 3rd parties link.
This project (along with my others) has benefited my learning and given me new skills. Even so, I believe we should be careful with AI and cautious about how much we give over to it. True intelligence comes from above.
Going against MAID:
As far as MAID goes, my perspective is as follows: I'm a Christian who believes in pro-life values. I've seen and helped many elderly people in my past couple of jobs. I believe life is a sacred gift given to us by our Creator. I want my work to make an impact for good.
MAID is a solution presented to a vulnerable group in society. An elderly person with an illness doesn't need their life undermined by a flawed solution like this, which promises a merciful ending (or killing).
So here we are with StopMAID.com. I anticipate the public release of this website. I'm excited to attach the final domain and to post a video saying it's ready.
There will likely be more work to come after the public drop among my very small following, but I want to release a decent V1 to our often misguided society.
I'm hoping this site does well with SEO (that was an important factor to me), and maybe it will get some good shares and mentions!
I want this site to do these 3 things:
- Encourage readers and viewers to stand for truth.
- Discourage people from using this flawed solution called MAID.
- Point to the true mercy found in the Lord Jesus Christ, my Saviour.
If I could fulfill just one, I think you know which I would choose. We all have a set allotment of time here on earth. We don't know how long that time is. If this encourages you, don't let that encouragement sit idle and fizzle out. Do something with it!
