Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how GO STEKO LLC, an Idaho limited liability company, handles personal information in connection with the website at stopmaid.com (the "Site").
1. Information GO STEKO LLC receives
Email you send. If you email cheyton@gosteko.com, for example from the Contact page, GO STEKO LLC receives your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write or attach, including any article you submit and the author details you provide. This information is used to read and reply to your message, to consider and publish material you submit, and to keep a record of the correspondence. Please do not email sensitive information, such as health details, unless your request needs it; emailing may not be completely secure.
Technical data. The Site is hosted by Vercel Inc. ("Vercel"). To deliver each page, Vercel processes the technical details of the request, such as your IP address (from which an approximate location may be derived), the page or file requested, the referring page (if any), your browser and operating system, the date and time, the response status and the server region. Vercel uses this data to deliver the Site and protect it from abuse, and handles it under the Vercel Privacy Notice. GO STEKO LLC can view limited details of recent requests and uses them only to keep the Site working and secure.
Visitor statistics. The Site uses Vercel Web Analytics to count visits. Unless your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal (see section 2), each page view is recorded with the page address (including certain query parameters, such as ?ref=), the date and time, the referring page (if any), your approximate location (country, region and city), your device type (desktop, mobile or tablet), your browser and operating system and their versions, and the version of the statistics script. Vercel tells repeat visits apart for one day using a code made from the request, which it discards after 24 hours; it uses no cookies for this. GO STEKO LLC sees only anonymous totals, such as page views, visitors, top pages, referring sites, countries, devices, browsers and operating systems, and uses them to understand which pages people read.
Where the law requires a legal basis for this processing (for example in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom), GO STEKO LLC relies on its legitimate interests in running a secure website, in understanding how the Site is used and in responding to people who contact it, and on taking the steps you ask for when you email.
2. Cookies and tracking
The Site does not use advertising technology and sets no cookies of its own, including for its visitor statistics; Vercel may place a short-lived security cookie in a browser that its systems ask to pass a security check, for example during an attack. All of the Site's files, including the statistics script, load from the Site itself. Apart from Vercel's hosting described in section 1, no third party collects information about your online activities over time and across different websites through the Site. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, the Site does not load its visitor statistics, so your visits are not counted (Vercel's hosting logs, described in section 1, still record each request).
3. Sharing
GO STEKO LLC does not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. It discloses personal information only:
- to the service providers that run the Site, its visitor statistics and its email, namely Vercel and GO STEKO LLC's email provider;
- to Anthropic PBC ("Anthropic"), whose AI assistant, Claude, helps GO STEKO LLC build and maintain the Site, as described in section 4;
- to Prismic (Prismic.io Inc.), the service GO STEKO LLC uses to publish articles, when material you submit is prepared for publication or published; once published, the material and the author details you ask to have shown become public on the Site and may appear in materials that promote it;
- to a successor that takes over the Site;
- when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of GO STEKO LLC, visitors or others.
4. AI assistance
GO STEKO LLC uses Claude, an AI assistant made by Anthropic, to help build and maintain the Site. Claude may work on the Site's code and content, including articles in Prismic, manage its hosting settings and deployments on Vercel, and review the anonymous visitor statistics described in section 1. Claude's connection to the Site's Vercel account could technically reach the request logs described in section 1, but GO STEKO LLC does not use Claude to access them.
In this work, Claude may have access to limited personal information: articles and the author names and details shown with them, including articles GO STEKO LLC is preparing for publication, and IP addresses that GO STEKO LLC chooses to block from the Site. Anthropic handles information it receives through Claude under the Anthropic Privacy Policy.
5. Retention
Email is kept as long as it is needed to deal with your message and for reasonable record keeping. You can ask for it to be deleted at any time. Vercel keeps its records of requests as described in section 1, and discards the code that tells visits apart after 24 hours; the anonymous visitor statistics are kept in GO STEKO LLC's Vercel account.
6. Security
The Site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections, and GO STEKO LLC's email account is protected by its provider's security measures. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. To the maximum extent permitted by law, GO STEKO LLC is not liable for unauthorized access to information that occurs despite these measures.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information GO STEKO LLC holds about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to receive a copy of it, to object to or restrict its use, and to complain to a data protection authority. To make a request, email cheyton@gosteko.com. GO STEKO LLC cannot link hosting logs or visitor statistics to a particular person, so requests about them may not be possible to fulfill.
8. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and GO STEKO LLC does not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent personal information by email, contact cheyton@gosteko.com.
9. Visitors outside the United States
GO STEKO LLC is based in the United States, and Vercel delivers the Site from a global network. If you visit from outside the United States, your information is processed in the United States and may pass through servers in other countries.
10. Other websites
This policy covers only the Site. Other websites and social media platforms that the Site links to may have their own privacy policies, which govern how they handle your information. To the maximum extent permitted by law, GO STEKO LLC is not responsible for their privacy practices.
11. Changes to this policy
GO STEKO LLC may update this Privacy Policy. Changes take effect when they are posted on this page with a new "Last Updated" date.
